AC coupling capacitor 200MHz to 2 GHz
« on: December 02, 2023, 11:27:39 am »
I am looking for an AC coupling capacitor (0603, if possible) with the lowest possible loss (we have a very weak signal) in the frequency band from ca. 200Mhz to over 2 GHz. I have a few unlabeled 10nF Caps in my drawer which perform significantly better than all others caps I have laying arround and I found out that a nickel plating can lead to higher losses. So which component should I try to get the lowest losses?

There's the 530L and 520L 0402 caps from ATC.

You can also dig through Murata's SimSurfing tool, which has insertion loss data on most of their caps.

The ATC caps are looking good, thanks. I was looking in the wrong category (RF caps) but "Broadband" seems to be the correct category
