Cardioid loop #2
« on: February 28, 2023, 07:52:21 pm »
maybe this is a shameless plug, but it's the result of a bunch of NEC simulations and field tests, which matched almost precisely them, the result is what we (I and my pard 13dka) named SULA (Small Unidirectional Loop Antenna)

https://swling.net/viewtopic.php?t=55

the antenna is a quite small receiving loop which shows a cardioid pattern from LW up to UHF (where the pattern is reversed); if one builds it "by the book", following the directions, it will be a surprise, while the loop is aimed at HF bands, it will go below and above; just FOLLOW the instructions and do NOT think it's another "magnetic loop", since it is NOT that, and won't work well if placed inside, give it a yard or a balcony, build it as designed and it will surprise you
