Chip antenna on ground
« on: May 29, 2020, 02:27:36 am »
Is there a solution to put an 2.4G antenna on top of a solid ground plane? So far I've been designing with 2450AT42E0100, which is globally in short supply, so I need another solution.
I know Taoglas has their SWLP2450 series ceramic antenna blocks, but I can't accept their sizes either. Something like 2mm*5mm is good, maybe I can stretch to 2.5mm*8mm, but that's it.
I'm experimenting on common antennas+RF absorbing sheet on bottom side, but as I'm waiting for parts, it will be days before I can confirm the results.

Look at the PIFAs from ProAnt. They are larger than 8x2, but you can place components below them.
