If a diversity radio receiver works by integrating two receivers in a single radio using different antennas, then can it really prevent fading?
If the two radio receivers are in the same position and getting the signal from the same location then how will it prevent fading?
If the transmission becomes weak then both the receivers will encounter fading, isn't it?

The antennae are not in the same place. Take Wi-fi. At 2.4GHz the wavelength is only 125mm. At 5GHz its only 60mm. You don't need to move an antenna very far to put it in a different phase relationship with all the reflections taking place. If you want material diversity at lower frequencies you need a lot more separation of the antennae.

You need antennas at different locations for diversity.
Use long coax to get the signals to two different receivers at one location.
Why would two antennas at the same location be different from a single (more complicated) antenna?
This stuff goes back to before WWII: RCA in the 1920s for transoceanic shortwave.

Tim, is it really worth ? Have a look at the OP posts history... deep sigh

My assumption is that beginners often don’t know the “term of art” for what they seek, and have difficulty searching for it.
On the other hand, too many novices here can’t be bothered to read something themselves, even when directed.
We once had a cute young receptionist at work, and the younger engineers tried to help her with school work, until they found that she only wanted them to do her work for her.

There seems to have been an influx of such OPs here, recently.
I don't find it cute, and my "ignore member" list is getting too long :(

I remember when September wasn't eternal.
ISTR the influx has been going on for around 6 months or so, but I can't be arsed to look at the twats on my ignore list to see when they joined.

eternal-september.org hasn't been behaving itself for quite a while.

Such is a global community, with differing school years. Its always time for someone somewhere to be set their first homework.

“Sempiternam” ?

well, at least the g00g abandoning the NNTP groups has given a definite signal about the end of the e-s, or at least I hope so
