Title: flush mating connector kinda like APC7 for cheap/lower frequencies between boxes
Post by: coppercone2 on September 09, 2018, 01:46:20 am
Is there a type of connector, with similar performance to say BNC or up to say 500MHz, that operates on the same principle as APC7 where you can make a connector of precise length and insert it into a carefully spaced geometry? Like a tight spot between two panels. With a 50 ohm impedance. The APC 7 still has a thread that prevents you from making some kinda flush connection.

I imagined it would have maybe a little ball spring loaded that would allow you to mate like a ratchet.I don't know if its mechanically possible to get good RF performance this way.

I want to use it with copper hard line. (not the braided one)

It does not need to screw on, it can be wedged/snapped in place.
