Title: How to take EMI measurement with MXA (N9020A)
Post by: stretchyman on November 01, 2024, 02:08:27 pm
Hi there.

One of the reasons a got an MXA with to conduct the measurements ness to get a product thru' CE certification.

However I must admit I'm a bit stuck making a measurement using the EMI receiver.

Got my LISN connected and sure I can see a spectrum in the SA view but switching to 'EMI Receiver' mode gives me a nice graticule but no data.

There's a 'moan' at the base of the screen; 'Execution error; must perform scan before do search'

I've read this; HP_Agilent_Keysight/N6141-90002 X-Series Signal Analyzer EMI Measurement Application Measurement Guide [73].pdf

I'm thinking it must be me doing something obviously wrong as all seems well with the instrument.

Anyone else tried this?

I'm sure there are many new MXA users seeing as they're rather cheap on the SH market now.

HELP!

Regards

JohnB.

In section 2, "Conducted Emissions Measurement Examples" of the document you mentioned there's a whole list of steps you need to follow after switching to EMI Receiver mode. Have you done those?

Yes indeed RTFM.

I'd missed the 'sweep control start'.

ALL good, Looks like I have a minor failure that I will need to rectify.

Thanks again.
