IEC 61000-4-3 Spot frequency test

(1/1)

Psi:
Hi,

For IEC 61000-4-3 EMC testing can someone please explain to me the reasoning behind the frequencies used in the "spot frequency test" (if there is a reason)
80 MHz, 104 MHz, 136 MHz and 165 MHz, 200 MHz, 260 MHz, 330 MHz, 430 MHz, 560 MHz, 715 MHz, 920Mhz

Were these selected simply to provide nice coverage over the 80M-1G band,
Or do they have some special significance? (e.g. Are they frequencies that often cause problems in devices so they get more attention in testing?)

The RF Field part of IEC 61000-4-3 that does a sweep from 80-1000mhz would cover all frequencies, including these.
So I'm trying to figure out what the spot test is trying to achieve and am not having much luck googling.

Thanks.

I'm not finding a reference to that in my copy of 61000-4-3. Which edition do you have? Which section is it from?

Feynman:
I don't know what product types you are referring to. Every time I've been to a EMC lab a full sweep from 80 to 1.000 MHz was performed. I don't have the 61000-4-3, but I never came across those spot frequencies. Since they all are about a factor of 1.3 apart, I don't believe these are some special frequencies.
