How far should people be kept from a 1500 watt transmitting loop on HF? I think around one loop diameter should be the minimum. Otherwise the loop starts getting detuned, and that must mean heat is perhaps going somewhere. |

The good news is; RF at HF frequencies doesn't carry the same potential for damaging health effects as VHF / UHF radio frequencies do. With that said; exercise common sense. I wouldn't run a small transmitting loop even at a hundred watts where someone could come in contact with it. |
