Measurement of Radar Cross Section using a VNA

For you Radar aficionados, an interesting Application Note from Anritsu on using a microwave VNA to measure radar cross section parameter of objects:
https://dl.cdn-anritsu.com/en-us/test-measurement/files/Application-Notes/Application-Note/11410-00604B.pdf
The link from the VNA to the object and back is represented by an equivalent 2-port network and a formula is derived to calculate the radar cross section from VNA S21 measurements. A metal sphere with a known cross section is used as a reference standard. Also time gating feature of the VNA is used to cut off clutter. It is fun to read the article if you understand VNAs and a little bit of Radar.
