Is Comm. with RF95 modules possible witout LoRa network?
« on: June 03, 2020, 01:39:44 pm »
Hellooooo;
Just found 5x RF95 modules I thought I lost 2 years ago.
I bought them to get into LoRa, then lost interest and lost these at the back of a drawer.
Can I use 2 of them to communicate with each other without the LoRa network or any other gateway middleman?
Like a regular point-to-point transceiver?
Thanks in advance for your input and any links that might answer this in deatil.

Yes, the radios can talk point to point without an underlying lora network. You of course need more than just the radios. You'll need a host processor (I use an STM32Fxxx) and load appropriate software to deal with all of the comms. It's not a small task...

cheers,
george.

Check out the RadioHead library https://www.airspayce.com/mikem/arduino/RadioHead/

I am doing a project with RF95's using Reliable Datagrams and it is working well.
