stripping tool for UT141 hardline?

(1/2) > >>

paul@yahrprobert.com:
Anybody know where to get a reasonably priced hand tool for cleanly stripping the solid outer copper jacket on UT141 hardline or semi-rigid coax? Or do you have a trick method using conventional tools?  Thanks!

I wonder if the tubing cutters designed for copper tubing could work?  They come in various sizes.

the tubing cutters I've tried tend to reduce the ID a little at the cut, leaving a sharp burr pointing towards the center conductor.  Probably also creating an impedance bump.

the proper kit has a expensive tool for this but I forgot what its called

you can knock up a "key" with a length of rod,  cut slot cut in one end and bend the other into a handle.
