Would it be interesting to find out where the distortion came from? It should not be so hard to get an output that looks a bit more like a sinus to begin with...

The distortion isn't surprising from such a minimalist oscillator/driver.  Of course there are much cleaner oscillator circuits out there, but my intention was to show the performance of this design because it is so popular in the QRP world.
