Title: Varactor diode identification
Post by: harrimansat on March 12, 2020, 09:52:54 am
Can any helpme to identify this diode type? Is a Tektronix 491 band C oscillator. Is a thread ceramic diode, 2mm aprox. 2 to 4 GHz, AFC.

I wouldn't be all that surprised if this was a special part manufactured specifically for Tektronix for use in this application. It's not uncommon to find unobtainable parts like this in test gear.

If you can figure out roughly what the characteristics of the diodes should be, maybe you can find a modern equivalent. It would likely be SMD though so would require some fudging to get it retrofitted.
