When you slowly figure out that you got owned for years...

Assuming admins and sec team discovering the incident were working in the company for years, hence this being their responsibility, imagine what was going in their heads when they were learning about the scale of the problem. A guess a few of them were hoping this is just a nightmare and they’ll wake up any moment. :o

But don’t worry, I am sure the PR branch of GoDaddy is already working hard on covering that. They may even get premium this month. Everything is fine, the society may continue as if nothing has happened. /s
People imagine AI as T1000. What we got so far is glorified T9.

"sophisticated threat actor group" ... that penetrated our cPanel.

That's like claiming a highly-organized, well-funded militant group raided the local supermarket, with all lollipops on the bottommost shelf being taken and nothing else.

Similar assumptions were going around regarding the Optus hack when it couldn't be further from the truth. The exploit was simple and as a result of stupid.
