disable the wireless interfaces inside and see if it still runs.

This is not how it works. Systemic issues are not solved, not even avoided in long term, by one shielding themselves from the effects.

I never said to connect your personal computer to this with critical/personal data on it, let alone on Windows. Also never implied to buy a typical "PC monitor". I was thinking of monitors large enough to make a decent TV set, which excludes most "standard" PC monitors, except those gigantic ones that have ridiculous aspect ratios. This is more in the professional category of large monitors, which, as I said, is not cheap. Although you can find decent prices if you buy direct from China. Then make your own "TV box" for streaming video or playing from files, any decent SBC can get you there and you'll have full control over what runs on it and the monitor will only display images, guaranteed, with no built-in camera, microphone and no direct network access.

As I said, yes, this option is more expensive than buying what's marketed as "TV sets", mostly because, as with most consumer products these days, if it's "cheap" for the specs, then it means you're paying part of it with your own data / privacy loss / subscriptions / ...

And a good panel can last a pretty long time. I have one of these that's nearly 10 years old now and still going strong.

if you watch the video, it is a large expensive monitor.
although it's safe to assume they can do this to any monitor because they are just triggering winshit to go download a "driver" using the monitor vid/pid
you could apply the same scumbag trick with any usb device - and i expect to see it happen!

your partially right,
the real answer is to run up on the board members and "deal with them". 
but that has legal consequences - unlike their crimes.
