I really liked the amphour show where you talked about car electronics.
I just replaced the alternator in my car (its a Merc), and the regulator is mounted on it.
Uses a custom made regulator chip. When oyu flip the plastic cover you can see the silicon and the wire bonded connections
If you want this for a teardown, I'm happy to get it to you
