Dave, Whilst watching this review I wasn't entirely sure you were properly in focus when seen in front of the lab background. I did a bit of research on your camera and it seems it can have a face priority AF set. I think you ought to try it. It wasn't much, with the wide angle lens you use it almost had sufficient DOF to make up for the focus being a little out.

I usually have that option turned on. But I probably had manual focus accidentally set for this, I'm always chopping and changing for various things.
I'm currently trying to run priority at a fixed high aperture, so there is more DOF, which helps a lot for viewing boards at angles etc.

I didn't download a manual but if it also has an ability to set AF distance limits then that might help to speed up the AF searching. I imagine you shoot mostly within a meter or so from the camera so AF to infinity is literally a waste of time.

AFAIK it does not have that option.

Dave.
