Hi!
I just wanted to check out if Microchip has PGAs with differential input. They had a table-layout for parts display, and since the PGA category contains only a few parts, and you can see most of their relevant infos in a table. Should take 1 or 2 minutes to get the info, right?
WRONG!
Whatever i do, the "MAPS" Microchip ADVANCED Parts Selector" comes up. A few words about it:
To process the request, and send a HTTP 302 response takes over 1 minute.
I clicked in the PGA section, and the "main" MAPS page comes up, half dozen clicks to get to PGA parts again, not the section i am interested in.
Unbelievably slow and unintuitive to use. Most clicks, or changes take 3-4 second to get a response. Learn real client side scripting, and get rid of updatepanels FFS.
No option to just "list all parts and show the details".

-> send by email -> can't close the dialog. Also, entered dsa@dsa.com just to get rid of it, and a nice ASP YSOD comes back. Nice.
Yes, I am angry, and frustrated. Why they had to replace a reasonably working solution with something totally useless.
Do the have ANY QA? Did anyone tested that thing before it went live? ???

They're clearly trying to compete with Atmel, who also appear to be good at making their website more useless with every redesign. Can't say I like the National product selector gizmo either.

RS went down this wanker part selector route and as a result i no longer use them. Unfortunately companies have sales teams who should just mind their own damn business and take the orders
