Please review the "NEOSOCKET" gas-saver
« on: March 21, 2010, 01:38:14 pm »
I thought your blogs on audiopholery and the WiFi energy thing were hilarious.!

I'd love to see a review of the Neosocket. It's a device that plugs into your cigarette-lighter socket in your car and saves 10-20% of the gas-consumption. Amazing, isn't it?  ;)

Sound like a scam to me.

Perhaps there should be a debunking of these fake fuel saver scam.

Off course it's a scam. Surely it does everything they say. Decrease gas-consumption _up to_ 30%. 0.0000001% is less than 30%  ;)
I guess you could prove that in theory a 470uF cap will stabilize the voltage by some factor and this could then maybe increase the spark-plug efficiency.

Yeah, I know it's a scam (hence the  ;)), but I'm still amazed that people fall for these kind of lies.

The irony is that it likely consumes power, thus Decreasing the fuel efficiency.

NEOSOCKET REVIEW

While I understand that many of you are very skeptical about this ... just like cars running on water....I am one of those strange people that despite the crazy talk, I like to check things out.

Here is the honest truth. The system does work.  It is amazing an miraculous... no.  Here is what I saw.

1. My FORD Edge gets about 17-18 MPG - with the device it is now 20 MPG.

2. When I was on the highway, it went to 21 MPG as long as I stayed at 70 MPH.

3. When I was on backroads of FL and staying at 50-60 MPH, it went up to 23.9 MPG... That was amazing to me!

So, does it give you what they said - up to 30%.... yes.  Every mile counts now!

These do work, in a way. The purchaser wants it to work, so they drive with more mind towards efficiency and get better gas mileage.

The only way it could affect fuel consumption is psychological.  By having it fitted, the driver is more conscious of their driving style and end up driving differently than from before.

The other way is from driving in different locations and/or conditions.  For example - snow covered roads and clear tarmac.

The unit itself is a complete wank.

I call bullshit on this post, which is obviously by someone with a vested interest in the product.
