Sounds like BS to me since I would expect to see interconnecting tabs.
It would make a nice, quick and cheap video to see if its true.  He has 10 million hits with this video.
The Optimist says the glass is half full, the Pessimist says its half empty, an engineer only see's a glass that’s twice as big as it needs to be!

An AA battery is about 14.5 × 50.5 (mm)

That 6v battery has the following specs:

H: 115
L: 68.2
W: 68.2

So in theory it's possible to have two AA batteries, one on top of each other : 50.5mm x 2 = 101mm which is less than 115mm

4x14.5 = 58mm which is less than 68mm  ...

So I mark it as PLAUSIBLE.

But it could be just the choice of a particular manufacturer, to save costs on manufacturing.

And the batteries are not that expensive, they say in the video that they cost 5$ for a pack of 4.

In reality, you can buy 48 for 12.5$ (about 0.25$ a piece) : amazon link Maxell LR6 AA Cell 48 Pack Box Batteries

Or AmazonBasics  20 pack for 8.2$ : AmazonBasics Alkaline Batteries (Pack of 20)

I think it's possible, thats why I made the post, maybe Dave can check out 3 brands and see if any of them really contains all those AA's.

Completely unlikely.

Zinc chloride lantern batteries contain four large "F" cells. Alkaline lantern batteries may contain four "D" cells and a lot of space filler since alkaline batteries are not always made in the larger "F" size. However, good alkaline lantern batteries should contain four "F" size cells too.

Did you know there are 1500 AA batteries in a typical car batter?  Yea, I didn't either.   |O

The few commenters who are genuinely patting themselves on the back for discovering that this joke video is "fake" are hilarious.

Was about to post about that.

While the video is a hoax, it is completely possible.

4x AA series for voltage and 8x of those cells for capacity.

Whats more annoying ... is the comments and reply videos.
"impossible 32 batteries makes i 48V"
"if you connect 4 AA in parallel for 6V  and batteries have  600mah they only last  a few minutes"
etc.
It would have been just fine if i would have seen connecting tabs of soem kind and isolating materials.
While cheaper to produce then custom size cells... the connecting may get manual labor intensive.

Also a good package to make ur own custom cells - 32 rechargeable batteries inside and just connect the way you want them for your needs (1.5V to 48V with decreasing capacity tho).

Speaking of the VCR hack, does anyone remember those dumb videos where people were saying their digital TV decoder boxes had hidden cameras in them and they were pointing at the IR sensor?

And now it's Ironic because TV's in 2013 do look back at you!
I played with a Samsung TV and it had a front facing camera that watched your hands and face and used gestures to control the TV.   Since it also has an Ethernet jack you have got to wonder if it's not sending out stuff also.

BTW I calculated that news report on NSA listening to phone calls in France and if the average call is 5 minutes that means they can listen to 10,000 simultaneous calls  :wtf: and that’s just in one country who is an ally.  Multiply that by 10 for domestic monitoring and put almost everyone in the Middle East on the list.  Maybe 1 million plus calls can be monitored at all times.

Oh yeah I took one guy to task because he kept talking about smart energy meters emit radiation and I said please clarify and say electromagnetic radiation instead of just radiation. Either way I think it's bull.

"Radiation" is like "chemicals". Tonight at the 11:00 news! Chemicals in your drinking water!

H2O is a chemical!
