Spectrum Analyzer

I have not seen a single review of a spectrum analyzer! Perhaps it might be good to do a review on a cheap one the average geek can afford. Perhaps the Rigol DSA800 series? http://www.rigol.com/prodserv/DSA800/

Rigol have promised me a DSA815 for sometime this month, so stay tuned!

After playing with the Rigol 'scopes, and being quite impressed, I got one the spectrum analyzers a couple of weeks ago.

So far its pretty good, oddly it didn't come with any test leads or pickups - I had to purchase those separately.  It uses N-type connectors, and I had to hassle with adapters to get some nifty pickup coils to work with the device.

I look forward to Dave's review as my experience is limited.

cheers,
Robert

By all accounts it's a real good value spectrum analyser. There is another thread on it here:

Thanks! I look forward to the review. I won't have to sell a kidney for the DSA815.

my old dataprecsion spectrum analyser, is currently in in pieces waiting for me to repair the PSU, so i guess i could do a build up (in place of a tear down as its currently in pieces)

also if i where to go and upload the manual here dave, it would become the only source of it on the internet :/
