Teardown & electronics explanation for digital calipers

Digital calipers are pretty ubiquitous nowadays and are extremely cheap for the accuracy they can provide.  There's a lot of info out there that talks about how they work at a high level (ie. two plates with unique patterns, capacitance changes as the plates move, etc.), but not much that talks in depth about the theory of their operation and electronics.

Might make for a useful and educational teardown video.
