Title: Where's David2? What about him? Is that his real name?
Post by: timofonic on September 22, 2015, 07:12:21 pm
Hello.

Dave, thanks a lot! I like your videos, forums and projects.

What's up about Dave2? Is that his real name?

I wish he could had his own section here and collaborate actively in your videos.

I'm heterosexual by now (future is uncertain!), but he seems to have good looks and his handicap might be to be skinny for mainstream beauty standards (but many men/women like skinny men too!). No offense, I wish to be skinny like him instead big and fat like me!

You have a degree on acting stuff. Maybe you could train him to act good at camera and reinforcing his own style in front of camera.

You can use your fitness degree to make him have a strong and stylish body. He will can be a geekstar among teenagers and such, not only those that just use Arduino. I really think Arduino it's an interesting learning platform, but I wish there were a lot more diversity and people get less scared at learning real programming languages (myself included) ;)

I would love that, triple training! I wouldn't need money: Just accommodation, improve my acting in audience, "toying" and learning with electronics all day!

What about his projects? Is he too busy or shy to participate on the forum? ;)

I think he's probably too busy and maybe still busy at studies and such to become the younger face of EEvBLOG, but it could be nice and attract a younger audience too. No offense Dave, you look very healthy and in so very good fit that I did believe you were early 30s yo.

Kind regards.

What you feel the C++ that the Arduino uses is not a 'real' programming language?

Well, it is. But it's a higher level way of programming.  There's modules and code examples for everything. It's like a guiding hand and it's good to start, but that's not the final path to do more complex stuff.

I'm grateful Arduino exists, but I hope there are a lot more of cheap MCU devkits to choose with comfortable IDE. Let's see if other companies make their -duinos, I would like to see the MSP430 and others. There's a big ecosystem of microcontrollers with lots of possibilities, but the "maker movement" (<insert a cool name here> + movement) made them irrelevant in the MCU ecosystem and these companies are slow reacting at it.

I'm still too stupid to learn even the most dumb proof programming language, maybe Arduino approach can help me in the first steps.  I want to learn computer programming programming someday.

I reckon Arduino were wise and made a low learning curve development environment and the lota of clones because being OSHW), made it something very attractive for the community.

I just hope competitors take the lesson. I have enough monopolies with x86, Microsoft Windows, Java, Adobe. And there's oligopolies everywhere.

I'm feared about MCU meaning Atmel. I'm already very unhappy about CPU practically meaning ARM for embedded and x86 for desktop.

I'm a fucking Linux user, I tried to not be over but it's very deep into myself that using something not being Open Source makes me puke. Despite being a Jack of All Trades, I'm very used m used to Linux and find Windows extremely annoying to me.

I'm even dealing at class with the fucking Windows world, but at least my teachers are not the same assholes like in my previous learning center. There's Linux Mint on the computers, I got root access and updating the software. And they let meet me use my shit:

- I'll use KiCad for schematic/PCB and QUCS for simulation. But I'm really feared about needing MultiSim and OrCAD interoperability with community projects, I need to lobby my classroom to use KiCad but the usability issues and teacher's influence might scare them.

- Electronics for dummies application:
* Fritzing is fucking limited and mostly "Arduining" shit and lacking a somewhat reliable simulator.
* There's not proper alternative to another  fucking shit (that sucks a lot much less, but propietary), named "Circuit Wizard".

** Because I'm a fucking crazy Linux user, I need to run it under fucking Wine without fucking graphical glitches and such. I'm trying to figure a way to fix them  and will contact with Wine HQ to see if they can help me.
** My current machine is probably too slow to run it under Virtual Box but I'll try it as a desperate way before suicide.

But I'm not a fucking James Dean: I have causes, but not just mental ones ;)

I know my way will be a lot harder than the rest, I'm used to that. But I'll try to learn the most and be able to have good skills after finishing the vocational school course.

Any news about Dave2? I don't to be annoying, I'm just curious about it.

I think their videos might appeal to youngsters too, but please don't make dumb shit ;)

In another thread regarding the projects he was working on, Dave mentioned that Dave2 is very busy with school stuff at the moment so the projects are on hold.

Yes, David is his real name. He chooses to not use his last name. He's an "off the grid" kind of guy.

You have been listening to the Batteriser people who are too stupid to understand that NIDA in my LinkedIn profile is a joke. I do not have an acting degree or anything of the sort.
I did do a short presenting course at NIDA and they said, and I quote "You are the 2nd worst actor we've ever seen". And "You do everything wrong, absolutely everything"
I can't teach anyone anything in regards to acting or presentation.

If he wants to come to the gym with me, he's welcome. I doubt that's his scene.

He's too busy, and like I said, he's kind of an off-the-grid guy. He is not a forum person, nor a video blogger or any such. I doubt you'll ever see his start his own channel, he's just not really interested in that kind of stuff.

Sounds like a teardown of his 3d Printer is on the cards
