Fluke 87 (base model) -- odd noises on startup? Normal

Hello all-
I am not an engineer.  I tinker with tube amplifiers (guitar amps), and mainly use a meter to test B+ voltages inside the amp.

I have a second hand Fluke 87.  Two issues.   Are they a problem?

1.  First issue is a series of noises upon startup.  I am not sure how to describe it, but it is not beeping from the piezo buzzer but rather some noises that sound like when you touch a battery to the terminals of a guitar speaker.  Maybe a "chirp" might describe it.  Hard to describe, but does anyone out there have any noises that occur when the dial is rotated to any on position?  Also, I did notice one time that when it was in the off position it was still "on" (as if the rotary switch was still making some contacts when in that position)

2.  The plastic part of the VOhmDiode probe input is broken off.  It appears to me that contact is still being made as intended.  Is this something I should replace?

A click click sound at startup is normal for the Fluke 80 series (I, III and V).

2.  The plastic part of the VOhmDiode probe input is broken off.  It appears to me that contact is still being made as intended.  Is this something I should replace?

Other "known" potential problems with the original 80 series I are: faded lcd digits, blown PTC, fusible resistor, broken input jacks, dirty pcb causing problems.  Don't judge the 80 series I too harshly though because they go through harsh enviroments and is more than 25 years old.

Thanks.  But unlike the pic in the repair blog, my shroud is not totally gone.  It is broken cleanly right at the top edge so the lower part (sleeve) is still there, stopping the jack halves from spreading.  Thanks for the input.

It might detract a potential buyer and they may ask for $10 off, but it should be okay.
