Title: 10MHz BG7TBL Distribution Amp Self-Oscillation
Post by: jjoonathan on March 24, 2021, 01:20:34 am
If you buy the version of the 8x 10MHz BG7TBL distribution amp that lacks the internal OCXO, you might want to bodge out L1. It powers the amplifier (comparator?) that normally buffers the OCXO output but without an OCXO it can self-oscillate and the self-oscillation can modulate onto the 10MHz output. Your instruments will handle this with varying degrees of grace, creating a state of affairs that might be tricky to track down.
