121GW multimeter Bluetooth
« on: July 03, 2022, 07:23:07 am »
A question for Dave or the brains trust.
Does the 121GW support Bluetooth 3.0 + HS (Atheros) ?

The reason for asking is I would like to put my old Toshiba R830 laptop to use and it just can't see the BT on the 121GW.   :-\
I know the BT on the Toshiba is working and has the latest drivers as it can see and connect to many other BT devices that I have.
I also know the BT on the 121GW is working as I can successfully connect to my much newer Asus laptop.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be most appreciated.  Thanks

It uses a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection, so won't work with a device that only supports BT 3.0.

You need an adapter with BT 4.0 at a minimum for BLE support.  You could try with a cheap USB BLE adapter.

Thanks Kean for the heads up.
I will get a Bluetooth 5.0 to USB dongle.  Worth the try as they are inexpensive.
