16700b no value?

I have a spare 16700b.    Having a hard time getting any interest in it at $150 (starting price).

It appears to me that it's probably worth quite a bit more parted out (opt 003,  mainboard,  ethernet card, pci card, scsi drive,  power supply, cdrom drive) than it is complete.    Recycle chassis.

Obviously takes time to take it all apart but ....

They are expensive to ship, and don't do much without cards. And buying used cards is iffy due to the issue with the glue attacking the board. I'd think you'd either have to sell it as working system with cards, or part them out.

Either way, don't expect big bucks. They are huge. I know: I have two, one I solely bought for the option 3 memory because it was cheaper than buying the memory separately. They are mainly useful in the niche of legacy parallel memory busses requiring more than the 16 channels your average MSO or USB logic analyzer could manage.

Yup.  This is exactly why I have one.    16ch wasn't enough.

I guess I'll part it out and put it on ePay.   Shame but the parts will be small and easily shippable.  Most cross to the 702b.

Re: "expensive to ship"; I mostly had it listed on my local Craiglist/Facebook marketplace for local pickup.

I have a couple (possibly 3) of these era units that I acquired on a pallet of gear I picked up in an Auction - Apart from doing a video on replacing the CCD/supply, I've never used them (they've just been in storage) - In comparison, I've used my Saleae unit many many times since - I think the reason I was keeping them was that one of the boards supported ECL but that might just be wishful thinking on my part.

I'm not sure they're even working now and with the amount of "fraud/bad actors" on eBay I don't even know if it is worth my effort to part them out.

I don't want to tangent this into an eBay bashing thread.   I sold TE on eBay for a long time.  The major factor that made me stop was the 14% fees and the 6 month return window.   The later never bit me, I just worried about it.  The outright fraud is overstated IMO and there are simple ways as a seller to minimize - but obviously not eliminate - it.   Of course the old adage applies "don't sell anything on eBay you cannot afford to lose" as they clearly favor buyers wrt "protection".

Apart from this, sure, eBay sucks.  They're a huge corporation like PayPal, Comcast, Aetna bla bla bla.
