Heard about this before on the Amp Hour, or maybe it was something similar like a rack mount thing meant for military use only pretty much. This one looks like quite a compact package though!

20 channels by re-using a single control module ... but with a stack of capture modules.

Sell a scope for millions, can't pay someone to proofread the datasheet :

IIRC Free-electron posted some pictures of this oscilloscope earlier. Perhaps he even spotted it in the wild.

It has been reported elsewhere that scientists have now made an amplifier that can give 11dB gain at 1 THz, Teledyne LeCroy have some catching up to do.

Wow... what kind of ADCs go into a thing like that? I'd love to see a teardown. Or atleast a price tag.

The only way to sample a 100GHz signal is to interleave a bunch of slower ADCs. How fast those ADCs are simply changes how many sample-and-hold buffers will be required.

The real question should be: what sort of sample-and-hold circuitry goes into a thing like that? That's the really tricky part.

As for the price tag, Lecroy's 60GHz scope starts around 500k$ so I would expect a 100GHz equivalent to be in the 750-1000k$ range.

The only way to sample a 100GHz signal is to interleave a bunch of slower ADCs. How fast those ADCs are simply changes how many sample-and-hold buffers will be required.
This only gets you to around 30GHz of bandwidth. All scopes with much higher bandwidth use frequency interleaving. The 30...60GHz band gets downconverted to DC...30GHz and digitized. The low band gets digitized directly. Lecroy calls this technology 'DBI'. I'm wondering whether they somehow managed to to s&h at 50GHz bandwidth or if they employ three paths of downconversion. (DC...33GHz, 33...66GHz, 66GHz...100GHz)
