Title: 2304A - Programming issue
Post by: jmonette on December 17, 2020, 11:53:52 pm
Hello,
I'm trying to automate my 2304A to make automated power measurements. I wrote a small software that connect via GPIB to it and send it instructions. It was working pretty well until I try to read the values from the power supply. I want to read the voltage readout and for some reason, it needs a delay of about 700ms between the write and the read, otherwise the power supply gets in error -420,"Query UNTERMINATED". It only happens when I try to read the readout (both voltage and current). I doubt it is related to the sample rate (NPLC) or average since they are both as fast as possible.

I tried sending both : :MEASure:VOLTage? or :FETCh? and the result is the same.

Interestingly enough, when I try to measure both the voltage and the current, it needs even more delay, about 900ms. That makes 1.8 seconds per measurement!

Do you have ever encountered this issue or any clue what could causes this?

Thanks
