8482A vs N8482A
« on: February 18, 2024, 04:26:01 pm »
Is there a difference between these two other than the bandwidth (4.2 vs. 6 GHz) and the EEPROM in N8482A ?

The N8482A stores the cal factors in EEPROM so that they do not need to be loaded manually.   The 8482 does not.  The N8482A is compatible with the E4418B.

So other than the ease of use regarding the cal factors, no performance or other difference within the same type of use (certainly not more than 4 GHz and most probably up to 2GHz) and with E4418B ?

The dynamic range is different.  It is a little better for the N8482A.  The N8482A dynamic range is -35 dBm to +20 dBm and the 8482A is -30 dBm to +20 dBm.
