8565E Spectrum Analyzer Spurious Tone
« on: October 02, 2023, 09:24:20 pm »
When looking at a 27.5 GHz tone directly from a signal generator (set to -5 dBm), the 8565E series shows a spurious tone which is ~25 MHz below the wanted tone. See attached.

This has been replicated with multiple generators from different manufacturers and on two different 8565E spectrum analyzers. The spurious tone is only present around 27.4 - 27.5 GHz main tone input and seems to disappear or gets buried in the noise at 27 and 28 GHz.

Any ideas what may be causing this?
