Lutron LCR-9183 RS232 interface
« on: December 28, 2013, 07:33:46 pm »
Hi,
I have LCR meter Lutron LCR-9183 (http://www.instrumentcatalog.com.au/brands/k-l/lutron/lutron-lcr-9183) and I want to connect it to a computer. I don´t want to spend money for cable and software. Especially for a cable because it´s just mono jack on the one side and CAN9 on the other. I though, that I need at least three cables for RS-232 serial communication. I know how to monitor serial communication between two devices with a third one (like here http://airborn.com.au/serial/rs232.html), but I´m not sure if I can use it in this application... When I push a button o meter to start a transmission (RS-232), I can´t see anything o scope. So I´m not sure, if I don´t have to start communication from computer. Is there any way how to do it without buying the original software?

Anyone can help? Thanks.

Jary
