'EEVBlog' BM235 - case?
« on: February 23, 2016, 09:17:14 pm »
Hi all,

Received my BM235 today in the north of Sweden and the first thing my colleagues did was nab it from me to check the charge of a laptops Lithium batteries! Thankfully it is home with me tonight - otherwise it would have been hard to get it back. Anyway, I digress.

Great meter, leads and banana plug adapters are great. Only question I have is a reasonable case. I cant find the BMP-25x case anywhere on the web other than a link to the manual! Any idea if it will appear at some point or if any of you have a BM235 and are using another case that fits the DMM plus the leads - can you let me know what make/model of the case is please.

Thanks in advance

I might get the BM235 case and see if it's any good, if so I'll stock it.
I might offer a "deluxe" pack with the case, magnetic hanger, and croc clips.

That sounds good, I'd buy that.

One of my old meters came with croc clips that screwed onto the threaded part of the probes where your banana adaptors screw on.

If you're not religiously opposed to Fluke products, I really like this case for my Fluke 117 (soon to be replace by a EEVB BM235):

http://www.fluke.com/fluke/inen/accessories/Cases-Holsters/CAMO-C25.htm?PID=78334

Can be had for USD$50. A bit spendy but nicely padded, zipper doesn't break, storage pocket for leads, and a strap/handle.

I've looked around and the Fluke C-25 is the best. All others aren't padded as well, don't have accessory pocket, or have a cheap zipper.

Don't like the price, but until someone makes a good cheap knockoff I have these protecting my handheld TE.

Klein tools (selling rebranded Brymens) has this bag for small meters for US$11 and change:

Looks nice. Haven't held one so not reviewed...

Is design fixed? I recommend a form factor with room for leads and accessories. The Fluke C-25 (camo) is the best. The Klein is very snug with hardly any room for anything but the meter.

I'd be down for such a deluxe case/accessories combo (for those of us who already have your meter...)

I'll be in for the "deluxe" pack.  I want to purchase the meter but am reluctant until there is a case readily available.

Looking forward to seeing it in the EEVblog store.

It looks like there are some new items available to compliment the EEVblog Brymen BM-235 multimeters.   :-DMM

" :( ?  Out of stock "

Boy, the stock went fast!

I don't recall seeing them listed anywhere so I would assume that the stock is not quite ready yet for sale, the picture I previously posted was from Dave's Twitter feed back on the 20-Dec-2016 along with the picture below, I suspect you will need to wait until he gets back from a break.

He's marked the stock at zero while he goes on holidays for two weeks so people don't have unreasonable expectations.

Several website customs already have them.
Amazon US should have stock within days.

Mine arrived from Amazon today!    The meter & leads fit very nicely.  Photos with a Fluke 179 for comparison.

I just received a shiny new EEVblog meter from Amazon UK, but no listing for the case & clips etc.

Are they available in the UK? If not, whats the story with VAT and Import duty from Aus. for it.

Many Thanks.

You could try ordering from Amazon US -   I assume that there will be duty/VAT to pay on top.

Does not ship to United Kingdom.  Please check other sellers who may ship internationally.

If Dave does another Free Shipping promotion I'd get one

Looks like VAT will be payable on the import. Too much hassle for a case.

Can someone please ask Dave to get them stocked on Amazon UK?

Many Thanks.

Oh and love having a quality meter, discovered my old one was more than 10% out  :palm:

You can get a generic Brymen case from Welectron. Free shipping to the UK from Germany, no hassle with VAT or import duty inside the EU. The smaller case fits the BM235 fine.

Edit: Sorry, the free shipping only applies to more expensive items. I'm sure it won't cost very much though.

I can get a generic one delivered from China for 8 quid, but the whole reason I bought Dave's meter in the first place was to support him.

I have been watching the EEVblog videos for a few months now and have gained knowledge and been entertained so wanted to give a little back.

By buying his meter I knew I would get a quality product and help his channel.

I would like to buy the proper EEVblog case with clips and hanger and I'm sure I'm not the only one in the UK who would.

I can order it direct from Dave's web store but $20 shipping for a $25 item is a bit painful and it's going to take a while to get here.

Could someone that has Dave's "ear" point him to this thread for a response please.

Many thanks.

Not really aimed at you that one, but I checked and anything over 15 quid has 20% VAT added to it.

Anything over £135 (including postage, packaging and insurance) attracts customs duty (The rate depends on the type of goods and where they came from).

Thanks everyone for your help.  :-+

Thanks Dave :(

Try these guys: https://www.welectron.com/Brymen-BM235-Multimeter_1

It's not the blue "Dave" version, but the regular red BM235.
But including the better test leads and the Brymen pouch, for €95 incl. VAT and shipping.

They also sell the pouch and other accessories separately, at reasonable prices, but probably with extra shipping cost.
