"Teardown" Fluke Automotive Demo board for Fluke 98 /Bosch automotive scope..

Bought a very clean and nearly unused Fluke 98 /Bosch automotive scope. And this board followd. No case, just the board loose without anything around it.. presume it comes this way. I paid 270 us $ including a whole lot of probes, capasitive probe, ingnition probe, and 2 probes for inductive and pulse detection. Everything was nearly unused including a Fluke case.

The demo board got 5 different signals generated and one can adjust the , injection, rpm, and sweep on pots on the board to emulate a real engines pulses.
Dont know if this followed every scope they sold.

Yes    as an acustic engineer i do agree!

But my wife thing, only sees a dirty glass...

I was thinking about buying it too, but it was not right, after just buying a Tek THS720A from the eevblog.com for sale market... And the info about this Fluke/OPEL thing on the internet was pretty scarse, as well.

You seem to have got lots of nice accessories for automotive use with that OPEL meter.

It dont got nothing to do With Opel, other than that they sold it to their dealers. The software is universal for anything from 4,6,8 cylinder petrol and disel cars. The only thing that stoped Fluke to make them was end of life of a chip inside.
Fluke made it, Bosch made the custom addon program on topp off the Fluke Scope and meter functions. A very good manual with detailed drawings and stepp by step instructions make it a very good tool for even non mechanics.

I recently purchased a non working 98B II and it came with the demo board too, and it was a gimmick to sell them to the automotive trade, you could teach your apprentice mechanics how to read the signals, and how to hook up the scope to the vehicle, Ive used both the bosch and fluke version, and the demo board, opel must have made a deal with fluke to re-brand it. And yes, thats how they came, inside a plain plastic bag in a cardboard box 35mm x 35mm x 90 mm... very ESD safe
