I have a TI-89 and a TI-92 - I love them -except the battery life. They eat batteries like crazy even when powered off - lots of parasitic draw. I actually installed isolation switches on mine - now the batteries last a couple years.

Yes, because they are powered on by a soft switch (button) they draw a bit of current all the time. Try overclocking your TI's and you will witness HUGE power drains. I did OC on my TI-85 because some calculations simply took too long to complete. The speed was incredible, but batteries ran out within a few weeks.  :-DD

Been long planning on buying a TI-NSpire CX CAS. But for the moment I don't need such power. Once I dig deeper into engineering I will certainly buy one.
