Thanks for the feedback @Spike !
I started a new topic to discuss adding recent Siglent and Rigol hardware support to Sigrok.
You will find in there a Pulseview Windows 64 installer for a version with my attempt to add SDS2000X HD (and possibly SDS2000X Plus) hardware support.

Got a patch?  I don’t run Windows.

Here you go ! : https://github.com/fredzo/libsigrok/commit/f91fb2a2b3664de43b27eab46bc9cd42cc022492
Awesome, thanks.  I’ll see you over in the other thread for the discussion about getting something merged.  I’d like to take a crack at getting the hardware modules loadable at some point.  Don’t know when I’ll have time but I’ll start looking at least.

Thanks for the input, guys.  I think I've reached a decision and I'm going to pull the trigger on an SDS2354X HD with promo bundle before the promo period ends.

Before I pull the trigger, though, does anyone familiar with Siglent have insight into the lead time on these units?  I only ask because I have a short travel period within the window that I'm currently aware of for this.  If anyone has any more accurate information it would be appreciated, so I can possibly avoid any self-induced delivery headache.  With my luck it's a virtual guarantee that it will be delivered while I'm away.  Maybe one way to move up the delivery would be to move up my trip.  :-)
TBH, you should just call them to confirm availability and hold a unit for you.

Thanks, I've given them a call.  For anyone interested their quoted delivery time on these is end of July.
Saelig has just updated their website to indicate that these will be “available on or about 09/13/24.”  This seems kind of crazy to me.  These will have been unavailable for what, four months by that point?  For what exactly?  A dark case?

Production lead times have been an issue for many of us.....add to that shipping times and we are now quoting a min of 8 weeks lead time before stock arrives......just 3 of which are the sea freight......the ports and custom clearances are another holdup.  ::)

I ordered an SDS2000X HD on Friday from Saelig, and it's arriving today. 🤷

Thanks, I'm sure I will. I loved the Plus version, and this is better in general. I assume the only thing will be getting used to the lack of some of the physical buttons I liked having.

But oh man, I'm excited for that metal handle! 🤩🤩🤩

Well that is interesting since I ordered one in early June and haven’t heard from them since shortly after the order when they told me they’d be coming in at the end of July.   Then when I checked their site yesterday I saw the info about September.  Perhaps they burned through whatever limited stock they got?  I guess I’ll reach out again.

Please do let us know if you receive it.  I am now being told that they did not receive stock, which does not seem to align with what you’ve apparently been told.

I did receive it, but I ordered the 100MHz model when it conveniently appeared. It's probably old stock. I'll investigate more to make sure it's actually new, but so far, so good.

Ah, okay.  That makes more sense.  Since that’s been discontinued I’d have to imagine that it’s stock they had on hand.  Thanks for that.

But that does bring me back to my original comment.  A months long break in the supply for a change of no value seems absurd.  I’d rather have a white one anyway and if I had found old stock I would have bought it.

They don't control the supply chain.

If you monitor this page: https://www.saelig.com/category/sds2000x-hd.htm

...and you see the 100MHz model show up (which will be a link to this page: https://www.saelig.com/miva/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SOS&Product_Code=sds2104x-hd)

Then buy it quick. That's what I did. I got really lucky with the timing.

I’m not blaming Saelig, I’m commenting on Siglent’s execution of this change.  I guess my purchase timing was exceptionally crappy.  I ordered a 350MHz model so I have less hope of finding one, I think.

You definitely won't find a 350 pop up. That'll get shipped to you before a random one pops up on their website.

It's certainly rough timing on Siglent's part. They did some major new product launches, and painted the existing 2k HD scopes...and were exceptionally popular with all of it. I wonder if they underestimated the demand for all of it or whatever happened if that wasn't it.

I just got an email from Saelig saying that my 2354X HD has shipped.  Their website still says 9/13 availability but UPS has my package.  So for anyone that's waiting it seems like they are available once again.

You were spot on.  Shortly after I posted above they changed their site to reflect that they’d burned through their stock. Next availability, middle to end of October.

All that matters is that you finally got yours. 😉 Enjoy, it's quite the tool!

ETA: I'm curious, which probes did they send? SP5050?

SP5050A

That's what mine came with too. I dunno if there are any other differences compared to the SP3050A, but these are only rated for 300V. Which is fine since all my ProbeMaster probes are rated for 600V, but it means I won't use the Siglent probes unless I'm trying to do some higher frequency stuff with a passive probe for some reason.
