A new Antenna VNA from China KC901S
« on: April 30, 2015, 02:17:16 am »
What is you guys opinion on this product? It looks quite promising and the current price is USD $1299 (including shipping I believe). I have a HP 8753C on my bench but a single port (S11 S21) antenna VNA is very useful for field works.

You can check out more info about this product using this link:

I took a quick look, there are less expensive alternatives. The question is what does it use for a detector? ADC resolution? How about the master oscillator phase noise? The dynamic range isn't all that great at 100db but would be about 20db over the $350-$600 range which come in at 80db.  Depends on your needs I guess.  These things are coming down in price but many use AD phase detectors and log amps that have limited dynamic range, cheap oscillators, 16bit ADC, etc.  a good, low phase nois, low jitter, master oscillator could cost you $120 by itself, for instance.  See if you can find the schematic.

So much talk about resolution and nothing about accuracy.

Never seen a analyzer with one vector and the other scalar channel  :-//

No Return Loss figures given for the ports, no information on sweep speed and detector bandwidth.
