Add Tracking Generator to IFR 1200S from A-7550

Please bare with me and my nutty ideas.  I have an IFR 1200S, but it lacks the tracking generator.  I have a few A-7550 units, all with tracking generators.  Some of the 7550s are parts units.  As you probably know, the 1200 and 7550 look very similar externally.  I know it's possible to add a TG to the 1200, so I wonder if the TG from the 7550 can be moved/installed into the 1200.  Ya, crazy, and I doubt it, but thought it might be worth the question.
