Aftermarket bench DMM test leads?
« on: December 07, 2020, 09:11:32 pm »
Searching, I see that most meter test leads have right-angle banana plugs. This doesn't work well for a bench DMM: difficult to plug/unplug, interfere with some push-buttons, etc.

What are the recommended aftermarket test leads with straight bananas for this type of meter?

Thanks.

Probe Master sounds right up your street. They offer several options for straight connectors and made in USA.

I have Fluke TL221 leads and they can be used with a whole slew of ends--the Fluke slim-probes, the TP175E twist-guard probes, the excellent Probemaster test hooks and banana-to-alligator clips that I have a bunch of from Scopemeters.  They can also take those Pomona long-nosed alligator jaw things for electrical panel work, but not to likely to need those on a bench meter.  Probemaster stuff is also nice, but their equivalent test leads have a retractable sheath that is handy in that it will fit ancient DMMs, but I don't think they're as nice otherwise.
A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.
