Agilent HP 54831D advice

TAMHAN:
Wrong tool for job. Get a cheap Salae (Aliexpress?), hack together your own decoder.

Sorry for sounding harsh (as I think abt buying a HP 16702)...but their plugin system really is what the situation calls for. Don't fook around decoding by hand, it IMHO simply isnt worth it for a gadget the Red Chinese will gladly send you for 35€.

P.S. I have this one, bought it almost a year ago as SWIMBO was whine whine whine whine whine want want want want want, never regretted it:

Howardlong:
I don't see why it's the wrong tool for the job at all.

I spent a few minutes setting up your traces in the Analog Discovery Digital Pattern Generator using a spreadsheet (see attached).

One caveat when doing decodes on this scope is to take care on the acquisition settings such as memory depth and sample rate, or the scope will appear to be quite unresponsive. Certainly I'd recommend not to do live real time decodes on it until you're aware of the limitations in this regard, and instead capture first then turn on the decode.

Here is the setup I used.

ARF:
Howardlong, thanks!
I also realized how to adjust encoding spi for my signal.
It works very well!
I wonder if other software for the analysis of protocols for the oscilloscope, if neither of which set does not fit...

I don't think so unless you want to roll your sleeves up and do it yourself with user defined functions perhaps. I have come across this before, for example 1-wire is not at all well supported by any scope manufacturer, and unlike SPI and I2C it can be quite challenging to decode by eye. I have a bus pirate for that although some years ago I did write my own 1-wire to RS232 decoder on a PIC, but it was just barely good enough for my needs: sometimes that's all you need though!

TAMHAN:
Howard, I bow my head in respect to you.

* TAMHAN has been in software for years....so for me, everything is a coding problem at first. Sorry :palm:.
