« on: July 30, 2011, 02:50:34 am »
It retails for $1300, I can get one for $400..

Does anybody have one of these, any feedback?

It will be used for on-site work to check filtering of DC voltages and for presence of signal... its got multimeter as well..

I looked at this a while ago - it's a bit big & heavy, and didn't  have trigger holdoff. Comments from an Agilent rep suggested it was made by a third party an there was zero chance of any future firmware updates.
At $1300 I'd say go for the  Owon handheld, but at $400, absolutely go for it - if it's old you may need to replace the NimH battery pack but that shouldn't be a big deal.
The multimeter is probably more trustworthy than the one in the Owon.

If 5mV/div are good enough, go and get it  :)

The screenshots are looking good. The only thing i don't like is the splitted sampling rate in two-chanel mode.
But it should be ok for power supplies and audio stuff.

Another big advantage: No ground connection  :)

There is a bit of a review/comparison here http://www.tmworld.com/article/317067-Handheld_oscilloscopes_offer_varied_features.php which suggests that third party is PROTEK Test and Measurement.

The Protek 800 series are obviously the same basic design.

Thanks for that link, Rufus.  I could tell that the Agilent clearly was not an in-house design, but I couldn't tell who did it (the manual is definitely not written by an English-fluent person, and the user interface is standard Asian-design poor).  It isn't an exact visual match with any other scope.  Although the Agilent is more powerful technology, I actually regret selling my Fluke Scopemeter after getting the Agilent.  The Scopemeter works very intuitively, while the Agilent has a clunky menu-driven interface.  It also gets close to too big for a "handheld" scope.  At least it has dedicated voltage and time scale buttons.
