I'm looking for a good LCR meter with ESR reading, and the 1731 fit my needs (I don't need 100KHz test frequency).

I do not like buy expensive instruments with corrections on bad engineered pcb  (like jumpers made with wire wrap cable or thru hole components soldered on the fly), I've seen Dave's excellent teardown video of 1733 and the nice internals of that model, and I was wondering if the 1731 model has the same internal engineering and construction quality of the 1733 but only a limited firmware.

Any of you owns this 1733 model and can share a couple of teardown images?

Thanks in advance!

Any reason why you are against the Der EE DE-5000? They OEM it for IET labs DE-5000.  It's a great handheld real LCR, not just a toy.

The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -George Carlin

none, but I can't find one in my local distributors...  :( I should buy overseas in Taiwan, and I don't like it very much: high customs taxes or lost shipment (both only in my country!) are the main reasons.
