Here is the consolidated info to upgrade majority of the 9000s and S series to windows 10 including those who dont have the factory mobo.
If your lucky and have the factory mobo that can support win 7 and 10 then your lucky.
step 1 make a image of the HDD and store it in a safe space.
step 2 acquire a second ssd or hdd
step 3 download windows 10 from here https://drive.massgrave.dev/en-us_windows_10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_dvd_257ad90f.iso (https://drive.massgrave.dev/en-us_windows_10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_dvd_257ad90f.iso) (yes you must use this )
step 4 get a flash drive and make a boot stick
step 5 download the windows upgrade zip and move it to the flash drive
step 6 boot up your scope
step 7 run the infdatasaver exe
step 8 write down your serial number and computer name on a text file.
step 9 power down and pull the hdd out or ssd. (optional)
step 10 install new hdd or sdd (optional )
step 11 insert your windows 10 boot stick. and boot up and start the windows install.
step 12 after the install is over, install your chip set and mother board drivers first.
step 13 connect your scope to the internet and allow window 10 to update it self.
step 14 go to "Turn Windows features on or off" via the Control Panel or Start menu, select "Internet Information Services," and click OK to install the necessary component.
step 15 run inf check frame it will install net 3.5 its ok install it
step 16 verify by going into regedit and check the in local keys under software then Infinium and you should see frame class if its unknown, then change it to raptor for mso/dso9000as, x9000a for the mso/dsosxxx series
step 17 rename your pc to the same name as your pervious pc it should be in your notes
step 18 insert the usb with infdata saver files and run it and press retore to inf. ( if this fails you renamed your computer wrong and only have one usb plugged in during this process )
step 19 run the earliest 6.0 version software from keysight and also install the windows 10 driver for the acquisition board that are in the zip as well.
step 20 read threw the list, if it shows win 10 9000a ot win 10 9000x drivers then your in good hands. if not you messed up your registers
step 21 after checking it all run the install and wait.
step 22 after reboot it should boot into the the software and all is good.
step 23 your keys should be auto converted.
step 24 activate your windows
if you like me and did not have the mobo well....
while you may say oh any mobo will work if it has lvds and supports windows 10 and that is where you go horribly wrong.
I have tested 4 mother boards and lets say only one of them actually work.
I suggest either get the same one as bernis or mine D3633-S mITX. ( has an issue where it doesnt stay off idk why but at least it boots)
DO NOT USE ANY MOBILE CPUS your not going to have a fun time.
only use full desktop chips.
only have mobos that are true pcie to the main slot do not use any peg only slots.( yea i know odd but I have tested it )
Boards that dont work
CR100-CRM
Advantech Aimb-274
Kontron KTQM87/mITX 810554-4500 Motherboard
Kontron mITX-KBL-H-CM238 Core i7-7820E Motherboard-
follow bernis steps to make the cables to adapt a mother board to this (thread here https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/agilentkeysight-infiniium-mso9000-series-motherboard-repairupgrade/ (https://www.eevblog.com/forum/testgear/agilentkeysight-infiniium-mso9000-series-motherboard-repairupgrade/))
then start at step 1
Here is my google drive link which has the windows 10/xp images

This is effectively the N2151A option.
I have included my image as well

I hope this helps

Also seems the original windows 10 iso download link is having issues with downloads so I have reuploaded it to my drive.

previous link was okay, i got it from this morning
and this one too ?
thks

This is just the windows 10 iso you need for install someone dmed me and said the link i had previously was slow. So I uploaded it to my GDrive. Just make sure after the check fram class it says raptor and I would say install the windows 10 drivers too. After that it should be smooth sailing.

Interesting stuff i will follow this thread.
And yes i can confirm that Raptor is the codename for the acquisition board in the 9000 series scopes. (most of the infiniium board codenames are named after dinosaurs). Tho i would guess that registry entry is placed there after the installer figures out what scope it is. I never analyzed what registry keys the installer actually checks.

My Keysight DSO9254A has the original "Adlink M-890-Raptor" mainboard, and we suspect missing Q45 and ICH10 windows 10 drivers. The problem manifests during the installation step "Infiniium 9000A Main FPGA" with the error message "Unable to access Infiniium_Acquisition via WMI". Later, during the installation of the actual oscilloscope software, the error message "Missing Required Prerequisite: Main FPGA Version 532" appears. However, the main FPGA version is up to date and is displayed as 214 under Windows 7 (214 hex == 532 dec). The acquisition board is not being recognized by the Southbridge. The error messages are likely just secondary errors. So far, I haven't been able to find suitable drivers.

Is there anyone who has a Keysight DSO/MSO 9xxx with an original "Adlink M-890-Raptor" motherboard running under Windows 10? Currently, I see no other way to get a Keysight DSO/MSO 9xxx with the original motherboard working under Windows 10 without the correct drivers.
-
Yeah sounds like that board might indeed be too old to run Win 10 properly.
The official Keysight way to upgrade these to Win 10 also involves having the newer motherboard with an i5 CPU.
Then again Win 10 is going out of support anyway, so if you are going to be running an out of support OS then you might as well just stick to Win 7 and put it behind a firewall

There might be hope.
I see that keysight is rolling out windows 11 updates for the s series at least so i might as well try once its out

I am thinking to upgrade an MSOS404A with Win7 that I have .. questions ::
1) Would this ISO (in this thread) work for this scope ?
1.1) if yes, by simply connecting with cd-rom reader and burning this image ,.. would be enough to upgrade and let win7 to upgrade to win10 using Microsoft processes ?
1.2) if not, where can I find the win 10 for this scope ? can I just use a win pro image I have ?
2) will it slow down the scope , show i leave it with win 7 ?
Kindly

if you already have a msos404a your life is easier just do the back up your data and then would make an image of the drive for sanity. Then download the windows 10 ltsc iso install and your should be ok.
