Appologies if this is old news but I couldn't find it - "Fluke Corporation has identified a safety issue affecting certain Amprobe brand AM-500-EUR, AM-500-EUR KIT, AM-510-EUR, AM-510-EUR KIT and HEX60-D Digital Multimeters, when used in CAT III electrical installations above 250 volts. (MEASUREMENT CATEGORY (CAT) III is applicable to test and measuring circuits suitable for connection to the distribution part of a building’s low-voltage mains installation.) As a precautionary measure, Fluke has decided to recall all the affected products and provide affected customers with a no-cost repair." The info is at https://www.beha-amprobe.com/en/announcements/safety-warning-please-readimportant-product-safety-recall-information-regarding (if this is old news this post can be culled, I figure it's better to have it twice than not at all) |

Just saw this recall was also announced by Fluke Australia recently. Same issue with incorrect fuse installed for CAT III use, potential for fuse rupture and uncontained arc explosion. https://www.amprobe.com/amprobe-am-500-am-510-safety-notice/ https://www.productsafety.gov.au/recalls/fluke-australia-—-am-510-digital-multimeter |
