Hi, looking around Yt I've found Dave's video about a nice box that translates current to mV similar to a regular shunt. Video link: The question is does anyone know the name of the device at 17:40? |
| Kean:
Do you mean the uCurrent? Details in the EEVBlog store, but currently out of stock. https://www.eevblog.com/product/ucurrentgold/ |
| wasedadoc:
It is a device that Dave Jones designed and sells. He calls it "microcurrent". It is a shunt plus an amplifier to increase the small voltage developed across the shunt. |
| Kean:
Dave published an article describing it, so you could actually build your own if so inclined. http://eevblog.com/files/uCurrentArticle.pdf There is a few videos and forum posts about improvements (the uCurrent "Gold", potential issues, and custom mods) since that article was originally published. The EEVblog 121GW DMM also includes a similar amplifier for "low burden" current measurement. https://www.eevblog.com/product/121gw/ |
