I bought an Aneng 8002 when they first came out, to use as an '830' meter for continuity etc. and to save wear and tear on my better meters.
Last week I switched it on and it displayed '0F5A' with the backlight permanently on. I take this as being hex as the 'A' sometimes flickers to '9'. The previous use was testing voltages of some 18650s and it was fine when switched off.
None of the ranges read any applied value, but the orange function button cycles functions from random ranges.
The meter has never been connected to anything over 24V DC and never used the current ranges. I cannot find anything obvious inside so guess it will have to go in the trash- a bit annoying as it has never been abused or subjected to transients etc.
