Bricked Owon SDS7201
« on: June 08, 2014, 01:09:16 am »
Hello.

I managed to brick my scope when the firmware update appeared to hang. I waited quite a while (30 minutes) before cycling power to the scope. Now, on power on the splash screen comes on and a relay clicks and then it reboots. The firmware updater doesn't communicate with the scope, and I hear the usb mount/dismount beeps from my pc.
I bought the scope from ebay in late 2011, so it is out of warranty.
Is there any service center in the US? Or, even better, does anyone know how to recover the firmware?

Thanks in advance.

Saelig is a distributor for Owen. They have a great service department. I'm sure they can fix it.

Got my serial number specific file from Al at Saelig. Ran the updater and my scope is back in business. :-+
I bought the scope off of ebay, and they still supported me. Very good customer service. :-+
