Any experience of R&S NGM201?
« on: August 27, 2020, 02:03:02 pm »
We're looking to replace our Keithley 2281S-20-6 due to a seriously problematic bug.

Has anyone used the apparent R&S competitor to this product?  How have you found it?  Did you find any similarly silly errors in its implementation?

Many thanks...

Tom,

Sorry I haven't been very active on this forum lately.  I replied to your PM before seeing the thread.  Since no specifics about the 2281 were in the PM I wasn't sure what the 'major bug' was before I replied.

I'll see if I can perform the same test on the NGM202 for you and provide the results.

Tom,

Here is a link to download the logging file produced by the NGM202.  This is 8hrs of sampling at 0.1s sample rate.  3.3V across a 33kohm resistor.

Anyways, I gave it a quick glance and it looks quite boring and very linear.  Enjoy.

I hope the NGM201 works out for you.

Thanks for the log JxR.  Our concern is over the charge accumulation function which the NGM201 should support as well, do you know if it has the facility to log that? We can do the accumulation function manually, but we figure that having the instrument do it will allow us to take advantage of the higher sampling rate.

Have you considered just asking R&S directly about this? My experience with R&S tech support has been very good.

We have a few NGM202's on the way, I can check when we get them.
