Any experience or feedback on Kiprim oscilloscope
farouqtaj:
Amazon are selling a Kiprim DS1202 120Mhz 1Gsa/s oscilloscope at a relatively low price of £160 including next day delivery.
There are good reviews on Amazon but they are from people that have been asked to do the review. I can't find any background info on this manufacturer or reviews.
Anyone have any experience or know anything about it? Is it a new entrant into the market with a good product at a competitive price point to get a foothold or a rebadge of another oscilloscope?

The Amazon page doesn’t list full specs but there is a link to a Dropbox account (!) with a .rar file, and in that are manuals and software. I’ve attached a snip of the spec sheet from the manual.
It seems improbable to me that Kiprim have developed their own oscilloscope. The specs match almost identically the Owon SDS1102 or Hanmatek DOS1102. If so, it might be ok compared to a Fnirsi, for example, because it will have real time sampling across all the ranges and a bit more sensitivity (5mV/div).
But what’s odd is that the front panel layout (buttons and dials) is completely different to the Owon/Hanmatek, although the quantity of buttons and dials is exactly the same. Even the BNC connectors are in a different place. If Owon are the OEM why would they bother to do a different hardware layout for a rebrand?
The marketing one-upmanship on bandwidth is a comic detail. Owon = 100MHz. Hanmatek = 110MHz. Kiprim = 120MHz…. Who’s next?
Marco:
That's cheaper than the adc.
Kiprim does have a relatively complex power supply which seems to be unique and not a rebadge, so it could just be a new brand which did a little borrowing of the electronic design.

If you're thinking of the Kiprim DC310S, then it could be a rebadged OWON SPE series.
Edit:
This could be a (slightly) reworked Owon SDS1102:
- same (rearranged) buttons and encoders
- rotary knobs look identical
- screen layout is the same
- the back looks indentical
1audio:
I posted a question on Amazon about the FFT. One review mentioned 12 bit ADC. That seems pretty unlikely but ?? Another review suggested discarding when it needs cal because its cheaper to dump and replace (which is quite true).
I am interested in an audio FFT display that can replace my vintage Wavetek. This seems to have promise. If the reponses to my question aren't too negative I may get one from Amazon. If its not OK I will just return it.
