Any word on the Mini DS213 (15Mhz,sorta 4-chan,func-gen,portable,~133EUR) yet?

Rooster Cogburn:
I've just seen that Mini has very recently released the DS213, an upgraded version of their DS203:

For the old 203 they released the firmware source code and there are some pretty neat looking alternative firmware projects:

I think this device would already be interesting simply because how cheap & tiny it is considering its specs, but what makes me interested in it is the hackability. Could do plenty of neat things with this tiny & cheap hardware platform.

Unfortunately, it seems due to it being pretty new there's not a lot of info out there. Has anybody done a proper review of this thing yet? Where can I download the firmware source code? Has anybody started to port some of the various DS203 alternative firmwares to this new platform yet?

Thought I'd ask on the official forum as well:

DS213 has some problem with FPGA chip. The trigger mechanism does not work correctly. They are working on the fix, but it was not still released. Here is a discussion thread on this topic: https://github.com/gabonator/DS203/issues/44

By the means of "hackability", they provided all the necessary source code for developing custom applications as they did with DS203. Take a look here, it is focused on developing operating system for DS203/DS213/LA104:

https://github.com/gabonator/LA104

Overall the device looks very promising, I did some initial development, but currently I am waiting for the FPGA fix to finish the basic oscilloscope application for it (but I am waiting for the fix longer than half year...) If they won't fix it, I will try to do the triggering in software way

The ui for these is universally terrible, trying to cram too many functions with too few controls.  Maybe okish if you use it a LOT but for occasional use they are generally just frustrating to use.  I have a 203 with "gabonator's" alternative firmware (I have also used wildcat, that was even worse than the original for frustration), it's almost usable on an occasional basis, I only wan't to throw it across the room for about half an hour every time I use it. So that's an improvement.

sleemanj, if you have DS203 you can upgrade it to a usb oscilloscope:
